"Heritage Recipes" Baking Registration

Show Date - Sunday, June 30, 2019 in the Lynn Dunn Memorial Building
Entry Time - Registration begins at 2pm.
Judging begins at 3pm
  1. There is no age or resident restrictions to enter this contest.
  2. Each participant may enter ONE item in each of the four categories

    1. Pies
    2. Crisps
    3. Cookies/Bars
    4. Cakes
  4. Specific rules per category:

    1. Must be brought in the original pan in which it was baked.
    2. Depending upon the item, you must bring adequate amounts for judges and for public testing. I.e. cookies – bring at least a dozen on a plate 
  5. NO FOODS THAT REQUIRE REFRIGERATION ALLOWED. This rule is for health and safety reasons. During the public taste testing, the food will be set out for no more than two hours.
  6. Be sure to mark your container with your name if you want it returned. It is your responsibility to pick up the container after the public taste testing and it must be picked up that night unless other arrangements were made.
  7. All entries MUST include the recipe on a 3x5 index card. Recipes may be published via website, newspaper, or cookbook. 
  8. For the fairs enjoyment: Add a little background information to your “Heritage Recipe”.  Fair goers would like to hear where or whom your “Heritage Recipe” came from.  
  9. Judging will be done by panel using the following criteria

    1. Appearance
    2. Consistency
    3. Flavor
  10. Awards – a winner will be selected in each of the four categories.
  11. Public taste testing will be held after all food competitions are completed (beginning at 4 pm). Winners announced after judging.
